Block Captain Program

Like other Kings Park Civic Association programs and committees, the Kings Park Block Captain Program works for the betterment of the Kings Park community with volunteers who use their listening and communications skills to work with neighbors. The program consists primarily of block captains working with their block captain coordinators.

Block captains:

  • Welcome new neighbors to the block with a welcome information package.
  • Encourage membership in the Kings Park Civic Association (KPCA).
  • Report news items concerning residents to the KP Gazette.
  • Keep the KPCA informed of neighborhood concerns or problems.

The coordinators communicate with their respective block captains on KPCA matters such as the welcoming of new neighbors with a welcome packet; the KPCA membership drive; upcoming events, news items (births, deaths, new neighbor, etc).

The coordinators communicate their issues with the Directors and then to the KPCA Board of Directors. We would like to keep an open dialog with all members of the community.
