May 15 is the Annual Meeting and we will be voting for the Board of Directors for the coming year. This year all positions except Secretary have two candidates! The candidates are listed on the home page and on the wiki. Hopefully, the candidates will express themselves on the wiki.
Kings Park will have the annual yard sale May 3, 9 am to 1 pm. Rain date is May 10. See the calendar for details. The yard sale will be advertised in several papers.

Neighborhood Watch needs volunteers to cruise around Kings Park during the work week during the day. This is the time when many residents are away from their homes and the most likely time for burglaries. King.s Park has had very few burglaries and we want to keep it that way. If interested, call Lou DiLeonardo.
Jessica Sinkovits handled "letter duty" on the entrance signs for the last year. Thanks Jessica! Jessica will be attending college this fall and we need someone to take over.

The Fairfax Medical Reserve Corps is looking for volunteers to staff the Lake Braddock Unit. Over 60% of the need is for non-medical personnel to help in times of emergency. See the Emergency Preparedness Committee wiki page for details.
The Neighborhood Expectations statement caused a fury. Three alternatives were proposed and defeated. The Board of Directors endorsed (edited version) was tabled as well. Most opponents to the endorsed version were worried that it was too harsh, made it appear that Kings Park had serious problems and/or contained unneeded posturing. You can read and provide comments on the wiki.
The pool is undergoing needed maintenance. Pool work photos are posted on www.parliamentpool.com.
The pool has had 2 San Vito’s Nights so far. We post San Vito Nights on the calendar. This is a tasty way to support our community pool.

Thanks to Beth Owens and a troop of volunteers, the first annual pot luck was great. Hundreds of residents came as well as Supervisor Sharon Bulova. The is a book of pictures of the event. Thanks to Beth and all those whose efforts made such a great event.
